Thank you so much for your interest in wanting to learn to ride and build your cycling confidence with Tameside Women’s Community Cycling Group!
Who these sessions are for
Whether you’re getting on the bike for the first time ever or just want to learn how to ride more confidently – we’d love to meet you!
You can learn at your own pace and you’ll have our full support because we believe the more we can all practice the more the confidence will grow.
We also know all the benefits cycling can bring to your physical health and mental well-being.
Session goals
During each session we will also be focussing on a different goal. This will be a specific area we focus that will help you become more cycling confident.
These will be confirmed closer to each session, but some examples of session goals are as follows:
- Bike checks
- Getting pedal ready
- Brakes and braking
- Starting and stopping
What to bring
If you don’t have your own bike or helmet, please don’t worry as we have some available to use on the day. Just remember to tick the boxes when you book your place and we will reserve them for you for free.
Light refreshments will also be provided free of charge, but you may wish to bring your own water bottle.
This is an outside session, so please dress comfortably but appropriate for the day’s weather.
About us
We are not about competitive cycling or racing. All we really want to do is to promote women’s cycling in Tameside and Greater Manchester – and make some new friends along the way!
We’ve been working very hard with our lovely group of friendly and patient female volunteers to put together many fun and productive learning sessions for you to enjoy.
Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you would like some more information, we’re always happy to help!
Our sessions are regularly oversubscribed and places are limited. Therefore we please ask that if you book a place but then find you are unable to attend, that you let us know in advance if possible, so that we can offer the place to another learner. Thank you!
